Fast-flowing electrodischarge CO2-laser with closed pumping of mixed gas.
ABSTRACT

The fast-flowing electrodischarge CO2-laser with closed pumping of mixed gas falls into equipment for laser handling of materials in machine building industry. Problem of the invention - magnification of the output power of CO2-laser at the expense of increase of gas stream volume and improvement of its parameters, and also increase of reliability, laser compactness and convenience of its servicing. Delivered problem is realised at the expence of using in the offered laser three axial compressors for mixed gas pumping; the gas-discharge chamber consists of two segmented cathode slabs, and these slabs are located with opening to a gas stream on a corner 6. Presence in a gas contour of three axial compressors allows to increase volume of a gas stream practically in three times, that gives approximately the same increase of laser radiation output power. Using of the gas-discharge chamber opening to a gas stream with an expansion angle 6, allows to reduce effect of potential reduction of discharge resulting from heating of gas and reduction of its density. In result the energy deposit in the discharge is developed, that also gives increase of laser radiation output power.
