The device allows to follow distance between a nozzle and a workpiece with the help of measuring in a gap between nozzle and workpiece velocity parameters of radial cutting gas jet. For this purpose, with the help of a differential manometer, the difference between complete and static pressure in radial jet on some distance from nozzle axis, or divergence in static pressures on different distances from nozzle axis is measured. The device allows to stabilize the gap not only for metal workpieces, but also and for nonmetallic.
